In conventional agriculture, the trade collects large profits and agricultural subsidies promote the cultivation of monocultures on large areas of land, which depletes the soil. The concept of community-supported agriculture (SoLaWi) opposes this pressure to grow.
Food is not distributed via the market, but via an economic cycle organised and financed by consumers themselves. ‘Ernte Teilen’ tells the story of farmers from three SoLaWi initiatives in Germany.
These initiatives have the common goal of establishing a local supply cycle and transforming agriculture through a new understanding on the part of consumers and producers.
