Erdsegen

On New Year's Eve in 1900, Viennese journalist Hans Trautendorffer bets his boss that he can live and work as a mountain farmer for a year and do without the comforts of modern city life. He soon realises that life in the country is not as simple and idyllic as he imagined - as a ‘godless city slicker’, he has a hard time with the farmers. When he does find a job, he falls in love with the farmer's daughter, who is expecting an illegitimate child ... ERDSEGEN made a particularly big splash at the time and was even shown at the Venice Film Festival. (Florian Widegger)
