Tip from Kim
It is a great enrichment to watch Melia Kara play this character with such conviction and self-understanding. And Berlin <3
Between job interviews that go nowhere and arguments with a cold, demanding mother, Hazal celebrates her 18th birthday. The young woman's future is primarily shaped by others: her German-Turkish family and the exclusionary German state. Displaced sketches that have no room for Hazal's own ideas and desires. The young woman fits neither the expectations of her contradictory environment nor the line outside the club from which she is turned away on her birthday.
Faced with constant rejection, her own dreams buried, and ultimately deprived of the right to her own body, Hazal's life spirals out of control one night. Interlocking transgressions, like the shifting of tectonic plates. In the rubble of the earthquake, Hazal flees headlong to Istanbul - a foreign city in an even less known country than initially thought.
