*Matterinplace_II* opens the program with an exploration of film as a composition of material and place—where time and space are redefined through the crafting of material and surface. From material structure to family structure, *Saying Not Said* captures the complexity of familial relationships, portraying two mother-daughter relationships across languages and generations, offering snapshots of four women at different moments in their lives. *Hétpróba* is an intimate portrait of Eszter Póka, an opera singer and single mother, and her four teenage children, each responding in their own way to a series of trials. By deconstructing, repeating, realigning, and multiplying film material, connections and differences are highlighted, creating a multifaceted family portrait. (Stoffel Debuysere)
