El pico
Paco and Urko, two young people from Bilbao's middle class, drop out of school and get involved in the drug scene. They both share a bed with Betty, a young prostitute who brings heroin into their lives. They become users, become dealers. The criminal spiral quickly spirals downwards and hits their families hard. The neo-realist style film - real needles sticking into real veins - became a social phenomenon in Spain. (Maria Giovanna Vagenas)
