Edge of Summer
Cornwall, but without Rosamunde Pilcher...11-year-old Evie goes on holiday to a picturesque coastal town in the south of England. Once there, her mood is immediately dampened by the presence of family friend Tony. He seems to be closer to her mother than Evie would like. She quickly finds a partner in Adam, who is the same age. Together they explore a disused tin mine on the outskirts of the city. The darkness of the abandoned place brings serious issues to light. They begin to question what the adults are actually telling them. Childhood as they both know it seems to be coming to an end. Much of the film is ‘on the edge’ or in flux. The lives of our protagonists, the economy, society as a whole.
