17-year-old Adi wants to enjoy his last summer in his homeland before moving from the small Romanian village in the Danube Delta to Bucharest. But his world suddenly becomes unbearably narrow: a homophobic attack forces Adi to come out to his previously unsuspecting parents, who react with anything but empathy – quite the opposite, in fact: they cut him off from the outside world, call the village priest and want to rid him of his “sin” with his help. The local authorities are also unreliable. Only Adi's best friend seems to still be on his side and willing to help him... In this intense coming-of-age thriller, a teenager must overcome resistance from his family, the church, and the authorities in order to finally live freely.
