Dreams in Nightmares

When she unexpectedly loses her job, Z decides to embark on a little adventure: Together with her two closest friends, she embarks on a road trip across the Midwest of the USA to pay a spontaneous visit to a friend. Quite a bold move, as the friend in question hasn't been heard from in a while. And so begins an eventful journey into the unknown that presents the threesome with unexpected challenges.

Shatara Michelle Ford's second feature film is a special kind of road movie: a sensitive, touching ode to the Chosen Family and the radical act of taking the space to dream in an increasingly torn country.
