Dove vai in vacanza? (Wo machen Sie Urlaub?)
A star-studded episodic comedy about holiday adventures. Mauro Bolognini’s opening segment could serve as a postscript to Luciano Salce’s *La voglia matta*: a fifty-year-old man (Ugo Tognazzi) courts his old flame (Stefania Sandrelli) when her young friends unexpectedly show up. Salce directed the middle section, featuring his brilliant *Fantozzi* actor Paolo Villaggio, as a *Commedia all’italiana* take on Ernest Hemingway’s *The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber*: a wealthy businessman on safari wants to hunt lions illegally, while his wife plots to have him eliminated. The longer closing section, almost a film in itself, is written and directed by Alberto Sordi: as a humble greengrocer, he and his wife are taken on an educational tour across the country by their snobbish children, patiently enduring all the trials of modernity.
