The pretty singer Anny Hofer causes rivalry on the Danube steamship Fortuna between the captain and a Hungarian nobleman, who initially smuggles himself on board as a stowaway, but then becomes a saviour in distress ... The filming of this harmless romantic comedy on the Danube, behind whose façade many a Nazi stereotype is conveyed, finally comes to an end in the summer of 1939 with the outbreak of the Second World War.
