Duration113min.

As part of the "Mechaye Hametim" week of reflection on the 85th anniversary of the November 1938 pogroms in cooperation with DIE FURCHE.

When a surprising find confronts him with the Nazi past, 80-year-old Ali Ungàr (Jiri Menzel) decides to travel to Vienna to confront the alleged murderer of his parents. Instead of him, however, he finds only his son, Georg Graubner (Peter Simonischek). Although Georg has never wanted to deal with his father or his father's past, Ali nevertheless arouses his interest, and the two of them set off in search of clues in Slovakia. What they discover about the country, the past and themselves brings the men, who seem to have absolutely nothing in common, closer not only to each other but also to themselves.

Followed by a film and discussion with Otto Friedrich (DIE FURCHE) and Christian Rathner (ORF).
