Disposable Humanity
The film explores the so-called “Aktion T4,” the systematic murder of people with mental illness and disabilities by the Nazi regime—a crime that began even before the Holocaust and remained suppressed from public memory for a long time. Moving between historical sites, archival footage, and contemporary voices, the film explores how memory is formed and whom it includes. Why did it take so long for the victims to be granted a visible place in the collective memory? The camera follows debates surrounding memorial sites, debates about participation and recognition, and portrays memory as a contested process.
