Dieses Jahr in Czernowitz

A few years after HERR ZWILLING UND FRAU ZUCKERMANN, Volker Koepp and his cameraman Thomas Plenert return to Bukovina, which is no longer so foreign to them. In tow are emigrants and their children from all over the world who also dare to return to their roots, including a cellist from Berlin, two sisters from Vienna and Hollywood actor Harvey Keitel, whose parents emigrated to the USA before he was born. Czernowitz becomes an ambiguous cipher in which the past - gravesites, old houses, former neighbours - as well as the present and the future, embodied by young generations of Ukrainians with all their hopes for a better coexistence in a growing Europe, come together.
