Die zärtliche Revolution
While Annelie Boroș is working on a film about care work, her good friend and roommate takes her own life. This makes the question of care even more explosive. What could a world look like in which we have the time and space to really look after the needs of others?
We meet people who have made caring their purpose in life: Arnold from Hamburg, who looks after his severely disabled son Nico and is tirelessly involved in activism. Polish carer Bożena, who complains about exploitation by companies and calls for more understanding of the mental strain of the profession. Climate activist Amanda, who has to watch her family's habitat in Peru being destroyed by the climate crisis and knows that we are only healthy if our planet is too. Samuel, a wheelchair user, who struggles with the separation of friendship and care and is trying to set up an inclusive housing project. They are all fighting for recognition, more rights and a more inclusive world.
Boroș takes the time and space to accompany her protagonists in their everyday lives, to engage with their stories and to enter into a dialog with them about care and caregiving.
