Die Vision der Claudia Andujar
Claudia Andujar's family had to flee the Holocaust. Uprooted, after training as a photographer, she found a sense of belonging in the forests of the Brazilian jungle with the Yanomami, whose protector and international spokesperson she eventually became. With the help of like-minded people, she succeeded in obtaining territorial rights for the Yanomami in the 1970s, whose existence is now once again endangered by gold prospectors and loggers.
In her documentary, film award winner Heidi Specogna not only unfolds a multi-faceted portrait of the renowned artist Claudia Andujar, but also weaves the thread through to today's indigenous Munduruku activists.
