Die Unbeugsamen
**SPECIAL ON THE GERMAN FEDERAL ELECTION**
In cooperation with **ASH – Forum of Civil Society**. After the film, a **live stream of the German federal election by ZDF** will be shown in the cinema hall!
**DIE UNBEUGSAMEN** ("The Indomitable") tells the story of the women in the Bonn Republic who had to literally **fight for their participation** in democratic decision-making processes against **power-hungry and status-obsessed men**, like true pioneers. **Fearless, ambitious, and with endless patience**, they pursued their path, defying prejudices and sexual discrimination.
The **female politicians of the past** have their say today. Their memories are at times **humorous and bitter, absurd yet eerily relevant**. Interwoven with rare archival footage, **documentary filmmaker and journalist Torsten Körner** ("Angela Merkel – The Unexpected") has created an emotionally moving chronicle of **West German politics from the 1950s to reunification**.
The footage he has unearthed unfolds a powerful impact, **redefining cinema as a space for political reflection**. This **insightful historical document** makes an unmistakable contribution to contemporary debates.
