In 1918, Paul Morgan moved to Berlin and quickly became in demand in German cinema. He had met Richard Oswald in Vienna in 1910. The screenplay for THE JOURNEY AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS is based on Jules Verne's Le tour du monde en 80 jours, with the addition of a detective story and new characters. Morgan played John Forster, Phileas Fogg's servant, who allows himself to be bought out of his job and has to persuade his pedantic master to dismiss him.
