Beckermann's journey through her own family history becomes a journey to Israel and Eastern Europe, where the landscape still bears witness to the persecution and extermination of the Jews, and at the same time becomes a narrative about the history of the Jews in Central Europe. In her diary-like montages, she searches for answers – and at the same time reveals the Austrian present.
