Die kluge Marianne

Marianne, a woman from the countryside, marries a writer from Vienna, but is mocked by his supposedly better-off friends because of her provincial habitus. She then does everything she can to conform to the model of the city woman, which in turn attracts the attention of her husband, who doesn't like this transformation at all. In the end, she once again ends up as a homebody in front of the cooker, embodying the ideal woman of the time.
