Peter leaves the Berlin variety theatre where the artist Bella Rosetta has turned his head in love with shock. His financially strong uncle has already chosen a certain Josette Rübe as a future partner for the unsuccessful dentist. And now? While Rübe's guardian is campaigning against bobbed heads and short skirts, Rosetta disguises herself as a cowboy called Bubi to stir up a game of confusion against the old men ... In her performance as a stage artist and lover, Ossi Oswalda alternates between restraint, determination and bubbling energy. Like her London colleague Betty Balfour, "the Berlin Girl" was often compared to the US comedian Mary Pickford - all three audience favourites were also active as producers.
