Die kleine Veronika
Veronika, who comes from a Tyrolean mountain village, is invited to Vienna by her aunt for her confirmation. But the fascinating city soon turns out to be a nightmare - because her aunt runs a brothel here. The film, based on Felix Salten's novella and shot in the Prater, was considered lost until it was rediscovered by FILMARCHIV AUSTRIA in 2016. DIE KLEINE VERONIKA is the Viennese legacy of the Austrian-Jewish director Robert Land, who died in exile in France in 1940. (Ernst Kieninger)
