Die geheimnisvolle Macht / Der grüne Kakadu
Franz Hohenberger's amateur film has everything that makes a sensational film: heroes of the heart, a woman in distress, dizzy villains and the seedy dive bar where people dance wildly. DIE GEHEIMNISVOLLE MACHT borrows from Harry Piel's serial DER REITER OHNE KOPF, in which a terrifying creature wreaks havoc, while in DER GRÜNE KAKADU, the Prater amusement park becomes the scene of a sensation: the camera rides along on the roller coaster and shows the devil's slide from the perspective of those hurtling down it. Two wonderful testimonies to cinematic creativity and a thirst for adventure.
