Dicht hinter der Tür

A doctor diagnoses Leo as self-destructive. Leo also wants to live, but how? It's not so easy with his job as a graphic designer, ditto with his fellow human beings. And then there are these images that appear before him and give his problems a figurativeness that is disturbing, actually even threatening: an old man quoting Shakespeare in front of the flat door, another time a desert opens up behind it, another time an ocean. Water becomes paper. Cat's eyes look. And again and again there is death, but you can talk to it, yes, yes. Then the images burst in again and it becomes increasingly unclear whether there is anything at all like reality. But there is something comforting about imagining that reality is gone and everything is just an imagination and a dream. Perhaps one finds one's way back to innocence when one abandons oneself to the images and thus overcomes language. A kind of hope.
