Lewan Glonti portrays the aimless daily routine of a young man and the milieu in which he lives with a sensitive, nervous narrative style and documentary-style inclusion of everyday life. The film describes his dependence on relatives, friends and authorities and his futile efforts to communicate. The underlying tones of the film are irony and melancholy. Along the way, a vivid picture of the city of Tbilisi emerges. In the background, the imminent collapse of the old order of the Soviet Union is foreshadowed. (red)
