Based on six milestones of self-organised and self-managed housing in Austria, the documentary takes a multifaceted approach to the various topics of cooperative housing processes from 1975 to the present day.

The film not only sheds light on the social and socio-economic aspirations and socio-political significance of the actors and residents of the respective housing projects, but also provides an insight into the everyday achievements, discussions and conflicts, large and small, that life in a collective entails.
