When Mr Bard learns that he doesn't have long to live, he wants to fulfil one last wish: a child. He retires, wins at the casino and buys a young woman to give birth to the child. Despite this sober business deal, Bard gradually begins to have feelings for the mother-to-be. Under the direction of the enterprising Hungarian von Radványi, the great Michel Simon gives a brilliant performance of his acting skills. (Raimund Fritz)
