Der Palast des Postboten

France, end of the 19th century: Joseph Ferdinand Cheval is a postman and solitary man who enjoys the solitude of his daily mail route along the Drôme to the full. His life changes abruptly, however, when he marries Philomène and his daughter Alice is born, whom he adores. As a token of love for Alice, he collects stones on his postal routes for years and uses them to single-handedly build an incredible palace in the middle of the wild mountainous landscape of France for 33 years.
