In 1975, a historic conversation takes place on a terrace in Rome: Claude Lanzmann, who is working on SHOAH, meets the former Viennese rabbi and last surviving ‘Jewish elder’ of the model concentration camp Theresienstadt. Suspected by some of being a liaison between the Nazis and the prisoners, but regarded by others as the saviour of over 100,000 lives, Benjamin Murmelstein gives detailed testimony in this monumental work.
