Daughters of the Sun

The girls of the Yazidi minority in northern Iraq were often still teenagers when they were kidnapped by fighters of the IS. They were converted to Islam under force and sold as sexslaves. While others are still missing, those who managed to return home are confronted with big challenges. In the chaos of a destroyed country they try to build a new life. The theater maker “uncle” Hussein is at their side with compassion and wisdom.
