Maria, 11 years old, lives with her mother Lilibeth on the edge of a gigantic garbage dump in Nicaragua. Their daily life is marked by poverty and the constant struggle for survival. A glimmer of hope appears when they have the chance to sell a purebred puppy to a gang member. However, when the deal falls through and her mother suddenly disappears, Maria faces a harsh reality. Alone in a chaotic world, she finds a ray of hope in Tadeo, a compassionate boy. Together, they set out in search of her mother and a better future.
