Tsutomu lives alone in the mountains, writing essays and stories and cooking with home-grown vegetables and mushrooms he gathers in the mountains. His routine is disrupted, much to his delight, when Machiko, his editor, visits him occasionally. She loves to eat, and he loves to cook for her. Tsutomu seems content with his quiet secluded life. On the other hand, he still hasn't let go of his wife's ashes, even though she died 13 years ago ... Based on an autobiographical story by Mizukami Tsutomu, Yuji Nakae directs a film about a modest and mindful life and cooking in Japan. It stars Kenji Sawada (Mishima), his first leading role in a film in 16 years.
