Paul Morgan founded the production company Trio-Film with Max Hansen and Carl Jöken. Their first and last work was DAS KABINETT DES DR. LARIFARI (The Cabinet of Dr. Larifari), which also bore the subtitle 1,000 WORTE ULK (1,000 Words of Fun). The screenplay was written by Morgan and Hansen, who of course also starred in the film. Critics said the film was a new genre; after operettas and revues had conquered sound film, there was now the ‘sound film cabaret of comedians’. The opening conference by Morgan, Hansen and Jöken was very nice, immediately letting the audience know that they were in for ‘an original potpourri, a holiday joke from their three favourites’. It was a series of 100 good jokes, popular songs and excellent musical interludes – this ‘ragout finale’ worked.
