An unknown singer rises to become a television star and develops into a ruthless, self-centred careerist as a result of the media hype. After DIE FAUST IM NACKEN, this is Kazan and Schulberg's second collaboration: a satire about the danger of mass manipulation through television at the end of the 1950s.
