Dancing on the Edge of a volcano

Beirut, 4 August 2020: The explosion of over 2000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate illegally stored in the port shakes the Lebanese capital. Amidst destroyed buildings and shattered glass, a film crew decides to continue shooting a planned feature film - an act of resistance in a country shaken by economic turmoil, state corruption and social breakdown. Dancing on the edge of a volcano is a stirring documentary not only about the ills of Lebanon and the world, but also about solidarity, the transformative power of art and, ultimately, a declaration of love for Beirut.
