Daft Punk & Meiji Matsumoto: Interstella 5555

The film Interstella 5555 by Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto was originally released in May 2003: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5system was written by Thomas Bangalter, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Cédric Hervet, directed by Kazuhisa Takenouchi and accompanied by the legendary Leiji Matsumoto.

Interstella 5555 tells the story of the abduction of an extraterrestrial music band by a malevolent human figure with sinister plans. The hour-long film was broken down into music videos to accompany Daft Punk's album Discovery and is rarely seen in the cinema in its original form.

Immediately following the film, a curated selection of iconic Daft Punk videos by directors such as Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, Seb Janiak, Roman Coppola and Warren Fu will be shown.
