Cuba & Alaska

CUBA & ALASKA is a documentary film about life and friendship on the front lines. Two Ukrainian paramedics, Cuba and Alaska, decide to leave their civilian lives behind and join the military. There they experience friendship, love, and recognition, but also pain, grief, and death. As the prospect of returning to their once peaceful lives fades, they find solace in art and fashion. Using bodycam footage and cell phone videos, the film provides an intimate insight into the lives of two young Ukrainian women at war.
