At the beginning of this film show, the question of where to place the beginning of the Anthropocene takes centre stage. In this context, there are films such as Crossroads by Bruce Conner, which shows extreme slow-motion footage of the atomic bomb explosion that was detonated in the Bikini Atoll during Operation Crossroads in 1946. Or Study of a River by Peter Hutton, which centres on the Hudson River, a river that has been heavily altered by humans, and Winterlight by Larry Jordan, which shows a river with a mythical background.
