Compartment Number 6

It was supposed to be a train journey with her lover, but shy Finn Laura ends up travelling alone to the north of Russia to visit ancient rock paintings. When she is assigned her sleeping compartment, a shaven-headed miner called Ljoha sits there, presenting himself as an obnoxious neighbour with crude remarks and vodka. Over the next few days, the disparate passengers have to get along in a very confined space. Only when Laura gradually gives up her dismissive attitude does it become clear that the two have much more in common than she ever thought. (Source: Zurich Film Festival)
