Close to Home

It's not war, but it's not peace either. The debut film by the two directors is also one of the first to depict the experiences of women in the Israeli military. The protagonists have recently been drafted and are serving near their families in Jerusalem. They are not part of a combat unit, but patrol and monitor to ensure security in the city. The story is told from their perspective, with the camera following them closely yet unobtrusively.
