CHUQUIAGO

Four episodes in Chuquiago - the name of La Paz in the language of the Aymara people -, four people from and in different social classes: Little Isico works for a market woman, Johnny, a schoolboy who also belongs to the Aymara, has big dreams, Carlos is a family man with too much party spirit and student Patricia is a rebellious daughter from a rich family. Director Antonio Eguino uses these main characters to explore the search for one's place in a society shaped by colonialism. In doing so, he impressively stages the Bolivian capital.
