Cato

The concert film is dedicated to the resistance fighter Cato Bontjes van Beek, who was persecuted by the Nazis because of her association with the Red Orchestra. After ten months in prison, she was executed in Berlin-Plötzensee in 1943. Julia Jentsch, who also played Sophie Scholl, plays Cato. Christoph Jöde plays the male roles and the vocals come from the women's vocal ensemble Sjaella Leipzig. Narrator Lorenz Meyboden will guide the audience through this impressive testimony. The work by composer Helge Burggrabe provides a touching encounter with the rather unknown resistance fighter Cato.
