Calypte – A Surfing and Sailing Voyage

Torren Martyn loves the challenge of the unknown. His talent as a surfer is world-class, but Torren has no interest in contests and star hype - he has opted for the adventure path and travels around the world on unusual routes in search of lonely waves. Be it on a motorbike through New Zealand, in a Chevy through Mexico or in an old van from Scotland to South Africa. The surf scene thanks him with a gigantic following on Instagram and the "Most stylish Surfer Award" at the SURFER Magazine Awards.
His latest project is also his most daring to date: with no sailing experience, he and his partner bought an old boat, the CALYPTE, in Indonesia and spent a year sailing 5000 nautical miles through the deserted islands of the Indian Ocean. They found paradise, uninhabited islands, perfect, never-surfed waves and new friends - but also had to survive countless adventures.

The film documenting this adventure trip will celebrate its world premiere on 17 November in Byron Bay, Australia - and will then be shown in just 10 cities worldwide.

All proceeds will go to the NGO www.surfaid.org, which provides healthcare to remote villages in Indonesia.
