Cabaret
“Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome … Im Cabaret, au Cabaret, to Cabaret!”
Bob Fosse’s musical triumph CABARET returns to the big screen in a restored version!
This dazzling portrait of hedonistic pre-war Berlin made lead actress Liza Minnelli an icon and was awarded no fewer than 8 Oscars. Unforgettable is not only the music, but also Joel Grey in the role of the mischievous and biting Master of Ceremonies!
Berlin, 1931. National Socialism is on the rise in Germany. Meanwhile, the extravagant American Sally Bowles (Minnelli) sings her way through the night at the decadent Kit Kat Club. There, where the spirit of freedom is still being celebrated, she dreams of a big career as an actress—while the political situation outside the club steadily worsens. When the shy British language teacher Brian (Michael York) unexpectedly enters her life, she also begins to dream of true love. But Sally’s carefree and tolerant cabaret world—between wild lust for life and free love—threatens to collapse under the Nazis, as Berlin becomes a trap with no escape for her German friends.
“This is no ordinary musical. Part of its success comes because it doesn’t fall for the old cliché that musicals have to make you happy.”

“Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey are electrifying; director Bob Fosse’s choreography and the camera work are scintillating.”
