Buddies on Ice
Christian Korherr from Linz and Markus Henssler from Munich know a thing or two about mountains and snow. But of multi-day ski tours in the eternal ice near the Arctic Circle?
Not a chance. Together they are preparing to cross 140 kilometres of Europe's largest glacier - Iceland's Vatnajökull. A glacier the size of Upper Austria. Without a guide, self-sufficient and on their own, they experience the tranquillity, danger and beauty of this gigantic ice desert in south-east Iceland.
