A film about the subtle but significant difference between sympathy and empathy. Because Paul ‘The Banana’, star of what is probably the worst wrestling gimmick of all time, is not even likeable in the documentary dedicated to him. What's more, Paul (whose surname is withheld from the public due to his antagonistic and highly sensitive nature) is everyone's most annoying neighbour, worst allotment gardener and most tiresome letter writer. Paul has no sense of humour, is vindictive and so principled that he would probably point out at this point that you can't ride on principles.

But sometimes a character doesn't have to be likeable to elicit sympathy. On the contrary. Paul's crusade against Seattle Semi-Pro Wrestling, or SSP for short, is so unsympathetic and so marked by petty bourgeoisie (highly unusual in wrestling) that the audience of this wonderful documentary gem has no choice but to open its collective heart to the embellished antihero.
