Ayeneh (The Mirror)
An ordinary school day turns into an odyssey through the capital when Baharan, a young girl, has to make her way home alone. It quickly becomes clear that this labyrinth of streets and unfamiliar faces is more than just a route home – it is a mirror in motion, reflecting help, ignorance and the realities of life. The moment Baharan looks directly into the camera, Panahi breaks the fourth wall and reminds us that reality in cinema is as fleeting as it is present. Observation becomes reflection on the medium itself – similar to the films of his mentor Abbas Kiarostami.
