Auf der Adamant

A utopian place of humanity in the centre of Paris.

Like an elegant wooden ship, the Adamant is moored on the right bank of the Seine in the centre of Paris. This unique day clinic, which opened in 2010, welcomes adults with mental disorders who receive therapeutic counselling, but above all develop their creativity here: They write chansons, organise film festivals, write poetry, paint and draw. Every day, the Adamant team demonstrates how it is possible, even in times of crisis in the healthcare system, to approach people with mental illness in an open and caring manner. Sensitive observations and conversations with the Adamant "passengers" result in a light-footed portrait of an institution whose existence gives hope.
