Three women, three generations, three different paths in life – Charlie (Morgan Saylor) returns to her mother Laura’s (Andrea Riseborough) organic chicken farm to help out. It’s not easy juggling the care of her ailing mother, keeping the farm running, and pursuing her finance studies—which starkly contrast with her mother’s life philosophy. The situation becomes even more complicated when Laura’s eccentric and fiercely feminist mother Solange (Catherine Deneuve) unexpectedly returns after a long absence. Faced with clashing worldviews and a looming avian flu outbreak, the three women must find a way to preserve the farm and coexist.

With FUNNY BIRDS, directors Marco La Via and Hanna Ladoul deliver an emotional yet entertaining film, featuring a magnificent performance by Catherine Deneuve. Martin Scorsese serves as executive producer.
