Apocalypse Now

1969, Vietnam War: Military policeman Benjamin L. Willard (Martin Sheen) is assigned to kill renegade US Colonel Walter E. Kurtz (Marlon Brando), who has distanced himself from the American military leadership and now rules over his own "empire" in the jungles of Cambodia. From Saigon, Willard sets off on a patrol boat with Chief Petty Officer Philips (Albert Hall), the nerveless saucier Jay Hicks (Frederic Forrest), the greenhorn and surfer Lance B. Johnson (Sam Bottoms) and seventeen-year-old Tyrone Miller (Laurence Fishburne) to find the uncontrollable Colonel Kurtz. In their search, the men travel through hell. Because death, despair, madness and the absurdity of a senseless war always accompany them on their mission. And Willard himself soon finds himself drawn to the mysterious power of the jungle...
