Magdalena Cielecka was honoured with the Polish Academy Award for Best Actress for her leading role as Małgorzata in this road movie, which focuses on the complex relationship between two sisters. Directed by Oscar nominee Fabicki and based on a screenplay by Monika Sobien-Górska, the film follows Małgorzata and Łucja (Marta Nieradkiewicz) on their journey to Switzerland. The successful lawyer Małgorzata is planning this trip as her farewell, as she is suffering from cancer and has decided to end her life through euthanasia. Lucja, however, is convinced that there is hope in the place where there is life. The Central European film is reminiscent of Almodóvar's The Room Next Door, and convinces with similarly outstanding actors and directorial work.
